& options for the impeccable professional repair,
total restoration, pimping or modification to all valve based audio
equipment including all power amps, monoblocs, pre-amps, tuners & guitar amps.
Speaker voice coil repair esp KEF's ( incl T27's), valve testing and
characteristic matching. Also rare, unique, or collectable
solid state amplifiers at my discretion.
Scope includes,
but not restricted to the following:- EAS/NZ3760 Electrical safety certification including leakage and
insulation testing, changing of power receptacles to IEC with mains filtering, use of audio grade eutectic solder,
re-capping, re-biasing, selectable gain & triode-like modes from tetrodes & pentodes,
feedback changes or removal, change to audio grade R's and C's,
e.g. Vishay resistors, Holland, Angela & Military teflon foil caps with excellent
sonic characteristics, bypass signal electrolytics or use smaller values
& non-polar, substitute polyprops, nichicon 'muse' ES caps where poss in signal paths and speaker
cross-over's, input impedance matching, valve testing, valve matching, sheet metal repairs & general machining, chassis restoration & paint or powder coat, specification testing,
before and after sonic results reports. Optional pimping
can
include adding leds to bottom of valve sockets to illuminate glass,
silent fan cooling,
antiquing, custom paint and/or air-brushing, chrome or gold plating,
wooden accents etc. I source and supply all parts required and will even arrange courier
or personal pickup & delivery of your 'baby'.
Specialist experience in authentic restorations of classic Quad,
Leak, Pye, Radford & Rogers valve amps. I use onlyaudio
grade eutectic
